I have been casting for almost 35yrs. I have used all types of systems. Ihave used ceramic molds since the early seveties.

The biggest differences between the systems comes with size and scale for your pieces. Very small jewelry pieces are very easy to do with ceramics. There is a potential for greater detail with the ceramics, but most of us do not work at the level where detail differences between 2000grit and 6000grit material are eveident.

The materials costs for investment can be lower initially. Over time these costs are lost in other economies of use.

The question should not be which works better, but what are the better uses for each method.
