How can one build an autoclave with an inexpensive steam source? ..... I have a stainless steel chamber 2 ft. wide, 2 ft. deep and 3' tall that would make a good chamber.....
It has a 2" drain in the bottom back corner the bottom catch pan is self provided by a rolled and welded front.....
This gives me about 1 1/2" to catch wax and drain into another container outside the chamber.
I will have to make a door for the front of it
l, the opening which is just smaller than the front of 2 x 3 ft......
It has another 2" pipe opening in the top that could let off the excess steam..........
First of all, I need to know the " use concept".......
Is it to introduce a jetstream into the cast's throat, or to steam the entire chamber for the wax removal ?
Will heating the whole chamber make the wax swell and crack the cast like other methods of slow heat?.....
If the gate opening of the cast is to be stormed with the steam pressure, then I would need to direct the steam flow to that area......
Last question,,,,, Would an automobile engine steam cleaner like used in detail shops provide a good source for either method and if not what would be a practical source for enough steam???? Thanx for any input..Jack Davis
