Man of Steel !

Here's a little somebody I've been working on..He's about 7' tall, inspired by some drawings by Subirachs that my girlfriend had on the wall of her flat before we met, and now hang on the wall of our house. She used to feel protected by these guys when she lived alone in the big city!

Nearly finished now....Man of steelMan of steelI'm not sure whether to let him rust, or get him galvanised and etch him to a dull grey/black.

Things have been pretty quiet as far as paying work goes, so I made this fella for company..I'll stick him in the garden, and take him to a show or two..if someone offers a fair price he can go to a new home, otherwise he can hang around, look after us and maybe scare up some business.

Scary and cool, too

Yes, when my daughter was growing up she had a doll that was about 2-1/2 to 3 feet tall. EVERY time I went to her room in the dark that thing would surprise me. Never got used to it.
This however, will not be sitting in my daughters room at night. I think it would be cool to make something like this for the shop, though.

new figure

I'd say don't do the rust trip. A rusty guardian is not going to be as effective as one oiled and ready to do something. Kind of like a body guard that does not have his morning coffee or is a TV junky.
