Blacksmithing | Artist Inspiration

If you're interested in seeing what Tom Joyce, a great blacksmith, has been up to in the recent past, check out the PBS series on "Craft in America." It starts tonight!

Please check your local listing to confirm your public television stations airtime.  The first segment on "Memory" includes an interview and documentation on some of Tom Joyce's work, including forging the most recent body of sculpture in the factory outside Chicago.  www.craftinamerica.org

Glad you were able to catch

Glad you were able to catch it! I had to hook up my rabbit ear antenna to see a fuzzy rendition, but I did get to hear everything!

For those who missed it and want to get to know Tom Joyce a bit more, there is an audio interview  and some photos at the Boston NPR web site. We also have a great documentary that Tom shared with us entitled "Life Force at the Anvil."

I appreciate the "heads up"

I appreciate the "heads up" for sure........I won't miss one of these. I watched all three hours, very well done. I was really bummed when Modern Masters went off the air.
thanks

Life Force at the Anvil

I looked at part of the slides and it is worth taking time to do so. Text stated that Africa skipped directly to iron and the nonferrious metals were developed latter. This surprised me.
