Some suggestions

Referring to the post about the site dying there was some input on how to maybe help. I think that one of the areas that most new members do not post is some of the wording and the misunderstanding on how to work this site. I know that over and over again folks are told to read the FAQs. But maybe we should look at the words used now for instance here is what you see when you hit the add content button:
"blog entry A blog is a regularly updated journal or diary made up of individual posts shown in reversed chronological order. A blog is tightly coupled to the author so each user will have his 'own' blog." For me as a newbie I would think "Oh my god I got to start a blog just to ask a simple question, and then I have to update it regularly."
Very intimidating. First off who really wants a journal or a diary? No one has really been using it in that sense here. So this is my suggestion on what might make it more friendly. "Blog entry Use this entry to ask questions or to summit your ideas or to showcase your metal art work."
Now another item that kind of gets in the way of things is that when you post an image it shows up at two locations. Right now if you submit an image and do not post to any galleries the image does not go to the galleries, which I think is great. Now if it could be changed that if you do not post to a gallery it does not show up in the "Recent Image" section. The reason on this thinking is that if I want to enter some images of lets say a procedure, the images can only be seen if I use a blog entry for adding the content. Next to the gallery tag put something saying "use the gallery bottom to add the image to a gallery, by not choosing a gallery you image will only be used in a blog or image entry. ![]() I looked briefly at the

I looked briefly at the "blog entry" description under the "CREATE CONTENT" section to see if I could implement the change you are asking. Well, the change is not easy to make via the system we are using. It will require php programming which I am not able to do. But if you do click on the block entry link, you will see a more user friendly description "Enter your thoughts, rants, happenings, that are related to your life, and/or metal art. Your post will automatically be added to the community news page which shows the latest blog posts." If the regular members of ArtMetal would like to see a more up-to-date and easier to use interface, then maybe we should try to raise some funds to help me get a real Drupal programmer to implement the changes. If there is interest in this idea, let me know. I think we could upgrade the site for under $1,000. This is just a guess... Thanks for your concern and your feedback. ![]() suggestions

I agree
Warren i couldn't agree more with you, i posted some photos once that i thought were just going to appear in my blog but ended up in the general forum and it just happened to be at the same time when the issue of posting to many photos came to light, i thought the issue was directed at me and i felt terrible about the entire situation and eventually was able to figure out how to remove them and everything else. Its a great site and i visit it often but i have been hesitant to post anything until now.
