Hello all. I'm back saying hi.

It has been a while but now I am back on the ArtMetal list. Thinking of Chris Ray tonight and figure it would be good to get back to chatting/listening in with my friends.

A gentle lurking for a while. Good to read of those of you here.

For those of you who are new since I left, I have a strong background in welding and am able to articulate information clearly. Also have a background in metallurgy and can answer some of the questions about heat treating how and why (although the knifemakers here do way better) Met my husband on this site talking about metallurgy. He has a PhD in it while I teach it at the very basic level.

Kind of re-grouping and thinking of how I got off track with my Art and how to get myself back on track. Teaching and welding kinda seduced me away from the Art.

Life doing okay. Married. raising American Mulefoot Hogs. Mulefoots have a syndacytl hoof which means a single pony type hoof. The most rare indigenous breed in the USA. On leave from teaching and taking early retirement.

Wow, really great to see you

Wow, really great to see you back here, Valerie!

I happy to hear about the marriage, the retirement and the hogs, too. Those hogs must make for strange looking pickled pigs' feet...(grin)

I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more of you here now.

Teaching can be a lot of fun

Teaching can be a lot of fun seeing all those lightbulbs go on in faces but it tends to drain your energy. I have yet to hear of a public school teacher who is sorry that they retired.
