That sounds like fun. Maybe it's something you should manufacture. I walk around in hardware stores looking at Parts for different things but I have never tried to solder things together. I have incorporated them into jewelry and sculpture.

Yes it exists (or DID exist).
I had an ERECTOR SET when I was a child.
It was all metal and put together with screws and nuts.
It was particularly suited for bridge models...
