Trenton Tye's blog

So Its been almost a year since I last posted.....

I thought I'd take a moment just to give everybody a hello after a long time away. The hellish south Georgia summer is over and I'm full swing into the shop. The real news is the last time I was here, I was playing with a few youtube videos. That has turned into a brand new website for me. I now teach blacksmithing through video and can proudly boast students all over the world. Its still small but its growing. As I progress in my education as a videographer, the software and the equipment continues to improve. Of all the years I've spent in the craft, I feel this is the most significant contribution I can make. It has been rewarding and Ive had the chance to take my craft into a direction that is relatively new in our world. I love my books but to pass on this craft and to preserve the personalities that make it great, nothing beats film. If any would like a peak, send me an email and Ill be happy to let art metal members in for free.

Anyone looking for air hammer parts?

I bought all the trimmimgs for a honker of an air hammer, band new, and then found the plans for the Appalachian Power hammer. So now I have a piston, manifold and all for a three hundred pund hammer doing me squat worth of good.

The Last Word on Steel Patina's

So, If I were to have one book on steel patinas, what would it be?

Forge volume for welding heat

I know that there is a formula for atmospheric buners to forge volume for welding temp but is there one for a forced air blower?

heavier work

Got the itch to do something other than knives for a few days. I swear to God, If i see another piece of damascus, I'm going to throw up......
This gal is made from 1 1/4 square stock and smaller. Just good old forging and some MIG.

Introduction

Good Afternoon All.
I had the opprotunity to speak with Mr. Vega recently and I decided I would visit the site and post a few pics. The expertise of others is always of value and perhaps it can be found here. Look forward to meeting you all.
