AutoCad

Hi to everyone in METAL ART land. I am new to this site. This is a great site with so much info available. I will enjoy exploring many areas later but first would love to hear from other Cade users, mainly in the technical drawing / metal fabrication training field who would like to swap cad files and teaching methods.

Cheers
Glen

Hi Glen, Just lately I was

Hi Glen,
Just lately I was looking for some one who would do a proyect for me using AutoCad. The proyect is not small so it has quite a few different type of tropical inspired buildings, many plans, drawings, views, you name it. Anyhow, it was going to be expensive in my view, so finally a friend told me about a free tutorial and a program you can unload from google. It`s prety straight forward and only takes a while to learn manage tools and learn tricks. It`s compatible with AutoCAd if you want to process further any work you do with this rather simple program. Check it out:
sketchup google. The work I`m getting out of it fits very well my architecture proyect, and I suppose it`ll work for those doing metal fab as well. Hope it`ll help. Nelson.

Hi Glen, Excuse my taking

Hi Glen,
Excuse my taking long to answer. I tried contacting you but you don`t accept e-mails. Here`s mine if you wish to contact me: ironandwood_vzla@hotmail.com
Like I said, I have no knowledge whatsoever regarding Autocad. Lately, discovered sketchup as an excellent and simple tool to do arquitecture drawings. It`s a very friendly and quite simple program, and in my opinion nothing doing with Autocad although they seem to be compatible. Autocad appears complicated for someone with limited computer skills, but it is interesting. Los Guacamayos Camp is a project I`m working on, and you can check the design and the work in progress. The design is done in traditional drawing, but the sketchup version is still unfinished. Nevertheless, the actual work has started already: foundations, columns, etc. It seems you`re more into fabrication design... let me know what your impression is . Thanks Nelson.
