Dallas area hackerspace starting up

The Dallas Personal Robotics Group, a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational group, has been around in the Dallas area since the 1980s doing interesting things including a lot of metal working. I've been a member since 1993. Recently, the group lost our long-time home, a warehouse in the Garland area, when our landlord retired and the building changed hands. The DPRG has also been trying to encourage wider participation in our projects by artists, DIY'ers, etc. So we've decided the best route to finding a new space for projects is to launch a full-blown hackerspace.

If you're not familiar with the concept of a hackerspace, it's basically a shared community workshop. Everyone pays a monthly membership fee in exchange for 24/7 access to building where the group works on their projects. Over time we hope to add a wide range of tools that individuals might not be able to have access to on their own such as CNC machines, laser cutters, welding equipment.

Anyway, posting here seemed like a good way to get the word out to people interested in the metal arts. If you're in the Dallas area and would be interest in learning more or participating in a Dallas hackerspace startup, here are a few links:
