ArtMetal=Lasting Freindships

It truly seems that ArtMetal is going through a slump and I won't be the one to cause it....Today I met my cyber ArtMetal friend Jake here in NYC...actually in Williamsburg Brooklyn...home of the hipsters.
Jake has visited NY twice and I've had the pleasure of meeting my fellow metalworker in the flesh. I feel we will be friends forever....we talked shop and our dreams , aspirations, and so on. So please participate, show your work and just be out there because you never know when you will have the opportunity to actually meet.
This is a worthwhile forum for me...thanks Enrique and Rich for giving us this opportunity to network....

A very well said post. There

A very well said post. There have been a lot of people on the forum which appear to be fun to hangout with. Just talk about life, art and what to do next. Most people here, I will never meet, but it is fun to see their work and where they want to go. And I'm learning from their journeys.

Keep posting,

Don

Janet, I don't really think

Janet,

I don't really think ArtMetal is going through a slump so much as a normal swing in the natural cycle of such things. Give it a couple weeks or months and it will be so busy here that it will surprise you, I'd guess. That sees to be the nature of forums in general from what I've watched over the years. Somewhat like weather patterns, these things ebb and flow with a rhythm all their own it seems.

While I really appreciate your thanks, all the credit for ArtMetal being what it is goes to Enrique and all the members. I just do the day-to-day moderating duties to take some of the load off of QuiQue. Almost anyone could handle my duties just fine, but without Enrique and you all, the members who give ArtMetal its life and soul, this would be just another club website like so many others, instead of the vibrant, valuable resource it is for all of us and tens of thousands of visitors every year. Thank you!

Rich

Hey Janet, Glad to hear of

Hey Janet,

Glad to hear of your meeting! You both are of value to this forum, and I'm glad to have had the chance to get to know the two of you through the Cyber world. Maybe in the future our paths will cross as well!

Cheers!

It was great to see you

It was great to see you again Janet. It's always nice to meet other metalworkers and get their perspective on things. I met with two on this trip, Janet and a fella named David who does very meticulous work with a lot of machining. I actually got to see his shop and holy cow, it looked like a surgical room in a hospital. Clean and organized with a lot of expensive toys. I think you could eat off of the floor. Definitely not a good idea in my shop, lol. Anyway, it was a great trip and experience.

Thanks again Janet for taking the time to have a cup of coffee with me.
