My first Dragon!

I am getting ready to start my big project for the next couple of months...a group of interlocking cabinets, in stainless , with glass shelving etc. It's complex and I know will take some time and concentration....in the meantime..
i stared my first dragon....he's small and quite abstract but I'm having fun. Making the talons is problematic....I'm heating and banging railroad nails ( this is small scale ...) Hope to finish him today....I'll post some pics soon!!!!

Three toes, or four?

Hi SteelyJan,
Everyone should make at least one dragon in their art career. I am excited to see what comes from your hands. I have basically no experience concerning any kind of hot-metal work, however when making talons I did learn that welding on an extension to the nail(or whatever) and holding this with a vice grip kept the destructive vibrations from my hand.
