It truly seems that ArtMetal is going through a slump and I won't be the one to cause it....Today I met my cyber ArtMetal friend Jake here in NYC...actually in Williamsburg Brooklyn...home of the hipsters.

Well I actually won a Radharc Knife.....of course I bought a lot of tickets but it was for a good cause ....
And soon I will have my handmade piece....yipee...I don't usually win anything.....SteelyJ

okay, I need technical help!!!! I have a piece of stainless plate that I want to use for a base for an outdoor(new) pice I'm working on. I tried torch cutting it...nada....plasma cutting ...a little melt away...even a cutting disc...might take me as lone as building the pyramids.....What am I doing wrong???? Is there a certain setting or gas to torch cut stainless...DUH!!!!

I am getting ready to start my big project for the next couple of months...a group of interlocking cabinets, in stainless , with glass shelving etc. It's complex and I know will take some time and concentration....in the meantime..

Today was my birthday...and although I'm getting older ...I'm getting better and definitely more focused and determined to get the work into high gear. After sending out 300 news letters ...I finally got a response from a gallery in Boston that liked my work...so we will take it from there and see where it goes. Had a dinner party last night for the people in my building and some new neighbors...and even though I did the cooking it turned into my party. Today I was rewarded...Walter found some interesting wood being thrown out and retrieved it and brought it home.
