Brushed designs in aluminum

Fabrication

Hiall, Jeff here from Pittsburgh PA. Cabinetmaker for last 30 years and part time know-it-all. Need some help tying to get a tight design brushed into aluminum panels. The design is a wave patern @ 3/4" tall and repeats @ 2". If you cut this out and move one half over till the highs and low align you get a fish type pattern.
Then you grind or sand the base ( aluminum in this case ) to get a burshed effect. Next step is to move entire pattern over 1/2 design and repeate brushing at an opposite direction.
When it's done you get an M.C. Esher type effect the suggests fish in a row. My trouble is that I can make this effect on a bigger scale and it looks great but when I try and csale this design down I cant seem it get in the corners to complete the brushing.
Hope I have not totally confused you all, any tips of trick will be be a blessing. Jeff in pa

A photo or two would sure

A photo or two would sure help me out. What "corners" are you trying to get into, is the panel already set into something, or are you using some sort of mask? If you're scaling the design down is there a problem because tools aren't scaled to the job in the same way? I'd love to see a photo if you can do it.
