Hello, I have at last decided to join the art metal community and hereby introduce myself. I have been a hobby metalsmith for the past twenty years doing nothing much beyond metalwork as a hobby, but now, well, I appear to be studying for a BA in Applied Arts, although of those arts, I don't do the ceramics of glass working, metal manipulation being my reason for being there and my interest, both jewellery making and blacksmithing, the metal trades and whatever metal takes the interest. Why I need a degree I don't know, for much of what I have already been taught I knew already as I am self taught in most things. Anyway, I am from England and about to start on a new career in metal manipulation having just secured myself a metals workshop, where I hope to, all things being well, turn the hobby into a business and actually sell the stuff instead of giving it away to any that show an interest.
