Does anyone know where I can get 1/8" x 7/8" hot rolled (preferably) or cold rolled flat steel somewhere in the Mid-Atlantic? My usual suppliers don't have it, tried Durret-Shephard, no luck. I'm in this project where I need a bunch and can't use other sizes. I just had a local guy shear me some, but that was too many $$$. I'm using the 1/8 x 7/8 for

Hi Rob, first of all, would it be possible to have your supplier shear 7/8" wide strips in 11ga or 12 ga material? Might have to clean up the edge a little, but they should be able to do it fairly accurately. That being said, Central Steel and Wire has 1/8"x7/8" flats in both hot and cold rolled steel. The great thing is that if your along their shipping routes, shipping is worked into the price and it's very economical. The have sites in Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Greensboro, and Milwaukee. Contact email is csw@centralsteel.com. They've always been very helpful and friendly and didn't mind dealing with me on a fairly small scale. If they don't ship regularly to your town, be sure to ask where the closest is, might only be an hour away or so. Hope this helps. Jake Jake Balcom » reply checked out the picture nice
