sculpture Hi, I'm Rob, I have a BFA sculpture 96' - 97ish from Ohio University. Went to an ABANA conference in '96. Just really started back at art after a financial services career. I make a little bit of under $50 (retail) stuff for tourists in Sedona, AZ. and some other stuff here and there. I like hammering copper... but I don't use words like repose and planishing... I kind of feel like I have a relationship with the copper... those words are cold and steril. I like to work directly in the metal and the different states of copper. I like the freedom to draw and dream-up pieces for fabrication. I like to "work fast". Right now, I'm probably most interested in mixing metals and alloys on the surface through mig, tig and gas brazing. I enjoy learning old world techniques just so that I can apply them in new ways. I have Francis Whitaker's autograph on my "Cookbook" and respect for the file, but you probably won't recognize his influence on my work. ![]() Call for entries

mutual interest
Hi Rob, I just wrote you an email but lost it do to a bad conection. I'm tired now so I'll try it again tomorrow. I weld critters from scrap which I sell in a local gallery. I'm a terrible welder but a good grinder and seem to have a knack for making something from scrap. Your graduation from Ohio U/ is what caught my eye. Being from Charlottesville Va. and a football fan Ohio U was one of UVa's few wins that I attended. No disrespect for Ohio U. they were just out-gunned by a larger school.
More later,
Regards gimperfi
ps welcome to the hood home boy.
