Hurricane bearing down on me

Hurricane Earl is knocking on my door as I write this. I'm already on stand-by power and I'll have to shut that down pretty soon, after which I'll be incommunicado until after the storm has safely passed. I hope. If the storm takes out my phone line then I'll be out until that gets fixed, unfortunately. I can generate my own power but I can't generate phone service. :-) I did get the lines cleare3d of vines and limbs in anticipation of the storm season, so I can hope for the best. There's going to be another one coming our way later this week, too. Life in Paradise - the fun never stops. Y'all have fun and play nice until I get back, okay? Rich  Good Luck Rich

Hurricane Earl is now past me and all is fine, as far as I can see. I don't think the winds got over 60mph at any time here, though they were much higher on St Tomas and St John. Still on stand-by power, but that should be taken care of tomorrow or the next day. Phone is still up so all is good. Thanks for your good wishes. Hopefully Fiona will be as moderate for us as Earl was - we'll know by about Thursday, I suppose. Rich  Hurricane bearing down on me

Try deleting the cookie for ArtMetal from your computer and log in again - the cookie set on your computer may have been corrupted. Rich You can't re-register using

You can't re-register using the same user name - if you could, then anyone could hijack your user name, right? All websites set cookies on users computers (unless the user has cookies disabled) so that the website will load pages faster and not need to be completely rebuilt every time it is accessed. If that cookie gets corrupted, then things don't work right. Your username is a form of cookie as I understand it. When you click on ArtMetal on your favorites menu your computer opens the page with your name already showing in the "log in" panel, right? That's a cookie set in your computer. In the hope of solving your problem, I sent you an email just now with instructions on what to do. Try it and letme know if it works. Rich  Fixed, I think

It's that cookie issue I'm sure, Janet. Look on the "tools" tab of your browser and see if there's a place to delete your cookies. That's a shotgun approach, but it should work. A proper IT person would just delete the select cookie and go from there, but I'm not that knowledgeable so I can't advise how to do that. This stuff is a bit over my pay grade any way you look at it - I'm a blacksmith, after all. :-) I'll email you a new password if your email address is good. You can always email me direct if you need help, too. Rich |
