forged steel hammered easel scroll brass Saturday was a nice day and there were chores that needed to be done at the shop. While Susan was choring I fired up the forge and built this little easel. 3 pieces of 5/16" vines solid bar 16" long and a 12" piece forged out for the stop. I tried some penny feet. I failed gloriously. It works well with an 11x14 frame. It was fun. The piece was brushed clean and heated, then rubbed with a brass brush to transfer some of the brass. Then oiled with a combination of boiled linseed and turpentine. ![]() it is surprising just how
