Peruvian Friend Wins Table Award

Nicolas Monterroso Ramos, a friend of mine from Lima, Peru recently won first prize and 3,000 sols from Aceros Arequipas Regional Contest for best designed and forged decorative table. He sent me a link to his flicker web site which shows many of the processes used in making his wrought iron table. Nicolas has been taking the workshops I have given in the past in Peru. Not to say that I taught him everything he knows, because Nicolas's enthusiasm for the craft of blacksmithing has taken him to many different resources on the web to learn what he knows. Nicolas would be a part of our ArtMetal community, but has not posted because he doesn't speak English.

Hi Quique,
Nicolas`work is just fantastic! He`s managed to combined modern as well old forging techniques with his Inca style. The Angel, eagle, well every detail on that table, all are excellent. Definetely, another good reason besides Machu Pichu to go to Peru... I second Fred`s comment in regard to translating help, count me on that if you wish. De tal palo tal astilla, huh Enrique. nelson.

Thanks to all of you for encouraging Nicolas to join the ArtMetal community! Nelson, if you would like to mentor Nicolas on how to post pictures, do translations with Google translate, etc. I can send you his email address and put the two of you in contact.

Due to the time factor and my not so perfect ability to write in Spanish, I just have not been able to help Nicolas get onboard.
