Enrique.... I am so much in awe of your work in Peru....I wish one day I could join you there and lend a hand. I had a Peruvian assistant for years and I miss him very much. He started his own structural company and is making alot more money then me. A wonderful person. Your screen is so....beautiful. What an inspiration to teach others esp. in a place where they get so little . Truely wonderful! Janet R. » reply Thanks!

Enrique, Thanks for sharing the experience with us. Congratulations on a great workshop. Hard to believe that you could assemble so many anvils and forges for everyone to use. I like that the design was appropriate for the region. Great job and my hats off to you. Fred Zweig » reply Thanks for the comments guys

Thanks for the comments guys & gal! I've been away from the computer for a few days doing the workshop here in Lima. It's been a bit tough because I've had some problems from eating all the wonderful food up in the highlands. It's taken most of a week to get things under control, if you know what I mean. Even with my system out of whack, I still was able to finish the three day workshop teaching over a hundred metalsmiths. The folks here in Lima have a bit more access to equipment, yet it's interesting to note that even here, there are few who actually posses an anvil and forge. I now have a couple of days off to enjoy going to the Indian Market. It's time to do some Christmas shopping! We leave at 4 am Monday to Piura for the last 3 day workshops. talk soon... ps: nice to see/read all the things the ArtMetal community is up to! » reply ![]() Lots of fun

I too wish that I could be there. I enjoyed my visits to Ecuador and Bolivia. I recollect that you are going to be down there for a while. I was curious who is paying for your extended stay. Have fun, » reply |

Hoo Boy! Traveling all day
Hoo Boy! Traveling all day and then teaching blacksmithing at 14,000 feet. You must have felt like the bus ran over you, instead of delivering you. Now you need some time at low altitude to shrink all those red corpuscles back to normal. :-)
Looks like a great project, and they certainly seem to have had a good time doing it. I like the design and th etie-in to the local history. Very impressive!
