I recently had a visitor who left a comment on the blog article "My Bathroom Remodel Project." S/he was desiring to see some more of my wall sconces. So here is a photo of my favorite wall sconce. This sconce uses a plasma cut steel frame with a mica shade which has a unique fractal image of a nautilus shell which I designed using a macintosh software program called "Fractal Domains." The size of the sconce is 18" w x 12" h x 8.5" d and has a burnished steel frame sealed with linseed oil. The actual individual mica panels are removable and reversible so that you can use different mica shades which I have designed. When the light is off, reversing the shade can either show the natural mica textures, or the actual fractal pattern. I currently have nine different shades which show various colors, textures, water scenes, and fractal images.
