I would like to share with all the pictures that I took at the Shindig. Starting with Firday this is what I saw going on. Friday was more of a casual day with everyone setting up there camping sites and just getting to know each other.
Friday afternoon: Peggy, Marilyn, Leslie, Richard, Chris, and John G sitting around chatting while Marilyn introduces weaving.Friday some more weaving: Peggy, Marilyn, Leslie, Wanda, Richard, Chris, and John playing with the wax.The famous front door: The front door to Bruce's house is so much greater than any photo can capture.Are we there yet?: Well I found this sign the next day, I guess almost there.
Getting to know each other: Some of the group having fun Friday evening.
Friday evening: Finally Friday late afternoon we made a beer run to Mass. Sure did taste good while talking to everyone.
Friday Dinner: Charlene made some good lasagna and everyone enjoyed, Heath and Alice waiting to start the fire.Meeting Andy the first time: Andy, Dick C, and Eric meeting for the first time.
Fridays lunch: Wanda, Chris, Marilyn, Richard, and Bill getting Fridays lunch. In Australia they each chile out of cups.Andy showing the fine art of filing: Andy got out his files and did a little filing on a bracelet that he was making.

Saturday was a more active day. It was the day of the pour.
Everyone was gathering in the studio: Brue getting ready to remove the top to his furnace.
Hooking up the chain fall: Bruce doing his dance with the chain fall to remove the top of the furnace so it could be loaded with brass.
Instructions from Bruce: The furnace was loaded and the metal was getting ready. Bruce giving safety instuctions to the crowd that was watching. "Stand back to here and leave room for me to run"
Like sticking a tooth pick in a cake to see if ready.: Bruce, sticking a metal rod into the furnace. Reminded me of sticking a tooth pick in a cake to see if it is done.
Metal ready: Bruce removing the lid of the furnace as crowd watch and stared at the glow of the cupola.
Hooking up to the cupola: Bruce engineered a fantastic way for moving the cupola. Here he is putting in place. Did you know that if you put a couple pieces of cardboard between the cupola and the base the ash keeps them from sticking together?
Removing the slag: Bruce removing the slag.
Pouring: The metal is being poured.

Eric taking the videos: While the metal was cooling people started to play. Eric taking his video camera everywhere. Wanda a freind of Bruce's watching.
Wanda Annealing: Wanda annealing the little vessel that she was learning to raise.
Forging: Andy brought his forge and anvil. Rich is heating up some wrought iron while Chris, Dick C, and others watched while Eric was filming.
Rich Forging: Rich working his magic with the hammer on the red hot wrought iron.
Watching work at the Forge: While Rich hammered, Chris, Nick, Bill and Andy watched.
Rich cleaning up his bracelet: Rich cleaning up his bracelet. So this is it?
End of the day: The metal has been poured and cooling the studio is quite for the night....................
The forge is off: The forge is shut down for the night............
Quite time: All of the hammering is done and the tools scatted about as they rest for the night.................now time to party!!!!!!!
