Guild of Metalsmiths 30th fall conference in Hastings Mn

Maybe everyone has already heard of The Guild of Metalsmiths 30th fall conference. But thought I'd post it anyway... just in case. They are having Jay Close from Charlotte, NC demo as well as L. Yeah, I just checked the website for info on Wednesday the 8th August meeting so I could reference it to a friend.

Nope nothing there either.

I gave em heck on thebellows.

The website has really fallen behind since I stopped doing it.

The Guild of Metalsmiths August meeting will be in Mendota Heights at

Dave Olin's shop.

1351 Highway 13

behind Axel's Restaurant corporate headquarters. (liquor store moved)

From Minneapolis take Hiawatha Ave So across the Mendota MN river bridge take 110 and turn left onto 13 at the stoplight. Follow 13 around into Mendota. The shop is about the first commercial block on the left side of the street. That will be on Wed the 8th Potluck dinner social time starting at 6:30 meeting and demo afterwards.

Everybody is welcome.

Demo will be on using small hand held air hammers for blacksmithing.

OK....I'm interested in the conference, but when is it and where is MN and MO????? Not everyone here is from the US.

Gene. What is a hand held air hammer? Is that anything like those sheet metal working air planishing hammers?

The GoM fall conference
"the Madness"
(from a conference long ago, when it was said, "These men must be mad to come here in this heat and work over hot iron and fire.")
Is held at the Little Log House Threshing show grounds due south of Hastings, MN. and northwest of Meisville on 220th St.
