FACES IN THE MIST

| | |

This is a window guard I made from found objects. The client was a yoga instructor who wanted faces. This is one of two screens I made for her.

wonderful

Really like this idea. The faces are brilliant and seem to me to be very tribal . What a fun way to secure your windows

Tribal!

Michelle and Andy:

Wow! You got it! That was exactly what my client wanted and what I was attempting to do. I wanted to give the impression of cultural and racial diversity among humanity. I am glad that sombody saw it and understood.
Thank you for the validation,

I also wrote a short piece about it that I have just found

Here goes FACES IN THE MIST

Who are we and what do we want?
Why are we here and what are we doing?
What do you feel and how do you think?
Where are we going and what will be there?

Co-creators of life is what we are,
Wanting answers to the mystery therein.
Looking for solutions to unasked questions,
Together we travel this road, for a time.
Confusion and certitude in juxtaposition, occupying our thoughts.
Looking through our personal filters

Is it about neotinous minis, skirted in black?
Is it about muscular male butts, churning?
Is it about pink slips, in your mailbox?
Or is it about conforming to nonconformity?
Body piercing? Tattooing? Self immolation?
Shiny, fast foreign cars roaring down the highway?
Bigger monitors on faster computers showing more colors, faster screen rewrites and lots o' memory?
Networking?
Fine dining?
Sharp duds?
A big, clean crib, with a three car garage?
Who your friends are?
Where the best drugs come from?
Fast delivery, overnight and on time?
Make, model, serial number and a big display ad?
Sadomasochistic liaisons?
Political connections?
Cheap sex, without any protection?
Taking a dive for the bucks?
Keeping up with the Joneses?
Ergonomic anything?

Please answer, "None of the above" and I'll declare my eternal friendship.

Just a thought . . .

The one that fits for me

The one that fits for me is:

"Who your friends are?"

Thing is, this can be interpreted in various ways. For me, true friends are...

Honorable, Respectful, Understanding, Loving, Teachers, Students, all of which we communicate and relate to each others Reality.

Thanks for sharing!... friend

Nic- I would love to answer

Nic-
I would love to answer "none of the above", but I couldn't be truthful. Unfortunately, at one time or another throughout my life I have been drawn to several of these vices. I can say that, as I get older, I am more appreciative of the intangible and ephemeral. Nic, I think the high quality of your character is reflected In your wonderful art and your thoughtful and caring comments.
