SITE IMAGES PROPOSAL ???

Hello everyone. Recently, I tried checking out the work (images) of some people on this site. May be there is a way to do it, but what I found is a list of titles of blogs and images. It just occured to me that it would be very usefull and practical, to be able to access to anyone`s work images, without blogs in between, just straight pics! That tool would make it very easy for anybody to view our work file. Richard I ignore whether this would be complicated from a programing stand point, or if you, and the people on this site like the idea at all. Certainly, it is not my intention to create more unnecessary work for you, I simply thought of it as an improving proposal. I know all the work can be seen in the different galleries available, and that`s nice from a general perspective. This proposal would anable anyone to see how our individual work evolves with time... Nelson.

Hi Nelson, I agree with you

Hi Nelson,
I agree with you on the images. I thought it would be nice to see the images on the profile page of each artist. There's a lot of open space on the profile pages. Then the images are linked to each artist and contact info. It's a great idea, but may be to complicated on the programming part.

Yeah!!! I like the idea. I

Yeah!!!
I like the idea. I don't have any idea how hard it would be to do that but it would be great. I would like to be able to view each artist gallery of posted work without all the other "stuff". The profile page is a good idea if it is doable.

Hi Jamie and Mele: There are

Hi Jamie and Mele:
There are two requisites before this proposal could come true. One is how much support it gets, how many people like the idea and think it`ll be a useful tool. The second one, is more a technical issue, and a matter of consideartion and approval by our moderators. Rich could shed some light on that part, but till more people approve or disapprove the proposal, makes no sense to advance. We`ll see... maybe it is just another proposal to join the "stupid" list of Jason. LOL. Hi Jay! nelson.

Limits

Hi Nelson,
I like your idea.Who wouldn't? Perhaps a limit, of how many images that could be used, would make your proposal more realistic. The artist would be given the responsibility of choosing what images that would be included. The burden of providing this falls on Rich and QuiQue,so its easy to ask for the moon.My fear is that we might be killing the goose that lays golden eggs. I appreciate your creative thinking, Nelson. And the fact that you are willing to share ideas that would improve this already wonderful community.I hope I'm completely wrong in my reservations because of the potential of your idea.
Respectfully,
Frank

Hi Frank, It seems that

Hi Frank,
It seems that people would not mind having such a nice tool, and eventually more and more would join in ! The question remains, Quique and Rich are the most qualify to say if it is worth doing the amount of work necessary. Hey perhaps we`re asking for the moon. Peoples input is nourishing even if we don`t agree at times. I agree on limiting too if necessary... Nelson.

Hi Nelson, I think that it

Hi Nelson, I think that it would be a great addition to the site as well. We mentioned it the last time we talked about some changes and I can't remember what the response was. There was an awful lot of "we should do this" and "we should do that" going on at the time so it may have just gotten overlooked. I'm sure Enrique can only do so much at a time. Might involve a major overhaul which could prohibit it as well. If it's possible I'm all for it.

I Agree

Hi Nelson,
You have hit upon a idea that has merit. This would enable us to view quickly the artists works that we are looking for.
Could we have a vote on line ??
Hello to Jamie and well said.
Michael

NELSON's picture

Hi Michael, That voting

Hi Michael,
That voting proposal of yours I didn`t think about, formaly I should say. Now, to honor fairness and not appear pushy, even if there are a lot of people that would like the image proposal, I believe our moderators ought to tell us if it`s to much work. It`s understandable that nobody wants extra work, or probably we`re just drowning in a glass of water thinking it is a big task. As a cave man, I don`t have the slightest idea, but I do know it got to require some effort, as any interesting work, like the darn big cyclon towers you work on! Hey Mike, who says that ain`t art buddy. Probably that`s state of the art tech, and probably more art than tying a dog by the neck in a museum!LOL. Nelson.

Hello Michael and

Hello Michael and Nelson,

Like the others have said if there is a limit it would be nice to have this tool, but also be able to incorporate the ability to change out the images so that we can update with new works. I know this is asking for the moon, but even if we don't reach the moon at least there are the stars...

I'm all for it...after all plenty of other sites are able to accomplish this sort of thing, so anything is possible. Again, I do understand that it can be cumbersome on the programming side, and I'm not underestimating the time and energy that would have to go into this Awesome feature. The idea is BRILLIANT!

Cheers!

Artist Profile With Pictures

Hi Nelson,
The more I imagine your idea the more I like it and yes we could have a upper limit so the system does not clog up. Just think you could view the artist's photos and their own personal work area(Shed ,studio, workshop, tin roof over, what ever).
Just remember see me for bigger bangs for your bucks.
Michael.

Nelson, this is a great

Nelson, this is a great idea! Question is, can I do it? It will require some php programming to accomplish. And I believe I have the tools to do it. My biggest problem right now is finding the time. Seems like time is speeding up using the Golden Mean mathematical equation seen in nature. Am I the only person feeling the speeding up of time?

I will keep your worthwhile suggestion on the burner. Let's see what I can cook up.

Thanks for sharing!

You're definitely not the only one feeling the speeding up of time. It feels like yesterday was the middle of May. Seems like every time I wake up it's a week later. Thanks for considering the change, I look forward to seeing what comes of it.

Hello QuiQue!

I'm so glad to hear that your going to consider this new feature! It's really exciting! I'll try to be patient...I'm always in a race with time, and somehow time keeps winning.

Hi Quique, Glad you answer

Hi Quique,
Glad you answer this proposal, it occurred to me as two galleries ask me for a start,to send them some pics of my work. Having a site on internet is esential to step up as artists. At the time, I`m sending the pics requested. Nevertheless, it seemed it would be useful for many on ARTMETAL who don`t have a site yet... I understand too, that there`s a moment for everything, no hurry, we all understand Quique. In regards to time speeding up, I have heard something about it, but quite frankly never looked into it. It appear as one more man`s concepts to me. During the lasts 5 years or so though, I`m 48, and linked to some traumatic loss of some loved ones in the family, I`ve been experiencing once in a while, a sense of a time-runing-out sort of feeling. I will read about that Golden equation. I want to accomplish a couple things in life, and like you say, it even gets me scared. Solutions for this time matter? It`s a real or a psicological event, and in any case,in my believe the only healthy way to approach it, is to have an accepting actitud towards something we CAN NOT do much about. I`n my case, meditation helps me so much, to the point that doesn`t affect me at all. The trick Quique is, that the effect of meditation is not continuos or stable unless you do it consistently. This too, is also a matter of reprogramming our minds to deal with facts that culturally as some of us have been raised, are not easy to accept. As a matter of fact, the conflict starts there, an undesired reality, and our inability to process and cope with it as another natural event taking place during our short, and seemingly speeding journey through this ilution we call life. Crap! I don`t know if it made any sense at all. I want to say that you and Rich are doing a great job; I bet all here are grateful for it, regardles if more or less programmings is done.My wife told me to take it easy, and not fuel up the "time race", as I relax, things simply slow down, and the trip may just be a little bit longer... Take care. nelson.

Site Images Proposal

QuiQue,
Dont worry about the Golden mean mathematical equation it's Doctor Who problem with the time continuum and he was in deep trouble in the last episode however we all can out it OK. Look honestly I am impressed that you have set up this web site Art Metal and believe in time to come this will have a big impact on many people so well done and yes time is speeding up for me at my ripe age age of 53, someone please turn the nob back a few levels!!
Please to see Nelson's suggestion on the burner.
Warm Regards Michael.

Wow,
It's been a year since the last post of this discussion.
Was it deemed a dead issue?
Too much programming for our esteemed moderators?
I would put my vote forward for this idea...
It might have saved me from my initial faux pas of dumping so many images in the public galleries...
And as Nelson has stated ,it would be an easy and efficient way of showing each artists oeuvre for all on Art Metal but also as a reference to potential clients off site.
By the way,I've started seeing my image posts on Art Metal turning up in Google searches. Thanks QuiQue and Rich for putting this all together...
