Recently I`ve been trying to locate an electric hand held planishing/forming hammer. I`d like to be able to take the hammer over the sheet, and not the sheet to the planishing stand. It seems to be a good tool to surface finish big works, and would serve the purpose of work hardening the copper sheet too. » read more | 7 comments ROSES

Hellow guys: Excuse me for repeating the pics. it`s simply a .... up! The uuhy is another pic of "metalmorfosis", this one was not intended to be posted. The other two are ok. You can see a native indian face sculpted on one side of the TEPUY mountain, the other side shows the ANGELS FALL, and on top with the flag colors the map of the state of the sites: BOLivar State. TREASURE CHEST AND CANNONS Hi Rich. I`m new as you know so I went back and checked some posts. That chest you made is beautiful and so are the wooden cannons! Down here were don`t have much tecnology, but sure got a good array of exotic woods, near the Amazone.I love to integrate wood and metal into a work.Mixed media offers endless posibilities, just gotta know how to combine them harmoniously. I have and old carpenter tool box, and some decades back there wasn`t processed wood like all these agregates we have now. It`s a matter of balancing work and profit,I know ! But here is some I`ve tried for real old look. Of course, it`s more work and should charge for it.For a table, door, wide shelf,or even an old chest, cut boards o various withs that would fit well the scale of your work. Burn them just enough (run test on size of fire and exposure time),run a handbrush in the grain direction till you like the look. Before setting into the fire, you me want to mistreat your wood a bit with cuts, notches. The finish you give it will be up to you. Pinewood is very easy, but some hardwoods give better look and longer lasting textures.forgot to say you shoul prety much cut your wood and assemble more or less, then fire, brush, put together.Any change due to firing, fix up and spot torch-burn if needed... » read more | 3 comments |
