If it is not im proper I would like to ask a question as my first post. I have been playing with copper making roses. I have one that I would like to preserve the color and prevent it from tarnishing. What would be a good coating to use for this. I will attempt to include a photo. p.s. Hi Warren ![]() Welcome Moose, Great rose

I've played a little with copper. I use a water based polyurethane to preserve it. If I heat color my copper, the water base doesn't dull the colors quite as much as an oil base. If you try this, make sure you experiment on a scrap piece before putting it on a finished piece. You may or may not like how it looks. Great job on your flower ![]() Warren, Yep that is

The last time I bought some I got 5 five gallons. That is how they sold it. I just finished using all of it, after about 6 years. I buy the out door type. No local distributors but they will sale in smaller quanities. In fact I need to order another gallon. I use one of those areosal cans with the glass jar you can get from body supplies. Then you only use what you need. warren ![]() Try wallmart under the name

HI Moose !
Hi Moose, welcome to da group. How ya do'in.This is a fantastic group. Sorry, I haven't an answer for the clear coat.I did have a piece a powder-coated at a place up in Baraga and they had some clear powder coat available. I know nothing about it though. I was thinking of having a clear color coat on a sheet metal dragon sculpture. Good to see you're still smash metal!
