Wire sculpture of a womans head

| | |

This is the piece that i showed you as a work in progress last time i posted. Shes made from 2mm stainless steel wire, mig welded together and electropolished. the eyes are parts of a stainless sphere. She took about 6 weeks to finish. Her face is modelled from photos and anatomy books, the pose suggested itself from the expression on her face and the hair i made up. The plinth is a block of elm.

Nice flow

Very nice and love the flow of the wire from the face to the hair. Looks extremely delicate. I have made a few things from wire and trying to get the movement and yet sturdy was always a challenge.

thankyou everyone for all

thankyou everyone for all your comments.
She actually has a shadow that looks just like her face, and it could have made a great shot, but i ran out of time with the photographer, and ive sent her on her way now. Theres another neat thing, the way the face sort of 'flips' into reverse perspective when you look at it from the inside and move it about. I guess video might be able to catch that.
