Something quick in wax

A small sculpture about 8cm high in wax. This is a test piece for something bigger. I have a plan to do a few hundred of about a dozen types and cover a plain wall in them to create the effect of a rain storm. I think they will work best in cast glass. But this one will be in bronze. I am struggling to think how to mount this when finished, ie what shape, material base etc any suggestions.

Thanks for the link Rich, its these kind of images that inspried me. There are some very unusual ones on your bros site that you wonder what causes water to take these shapes ![]() Water drops

Not sure on glass but on the bronze I would drill and tap the bronze and put in a hanger bolt (metal thread one side wood thread other side). Look at Rockler.com – hanger bolt for photo. Pat ![]() I may have some problems

I may have some problems drilling a deep enough hole in this one as its pretty thin in the centre. I will probably cast a short rod in place ready and cut a thread on it. What I'm mostly asking is what shape and material would be best for the base. This one is just going to sit on a table or something lke a normal bronze. The glass castings for the wall will be something for the future (I'll probably use some sort of adhesive for that one |

Ian, I can tell from your
Ian,
I can tell from your work that you have a fascination with water. If you want to see some really cool images of water drops, splashes, etc, take a look at these photos of my brother's. These are real, no Photoshop fakery, and they amaze me. Maybe they'll give you some additional inspirations.
