Great!

Jake,
Will your artwork need a base? If so, what kind, wood/metal/size?
Lorrie

The piece is pretty light,

The piece is pretty light, and of course small. Its about 5" in diameter and roughly 11" tall(I tried to keep it in an 8" box, but it grew up a little, lol). I'll send a simple shelf that can be hung on the wall, but if you have a pedestal base handy and think it would look better that way feel free to display it how you think would be best. I really appreciated all of the work your putting into this, and giving us an opportunity to show our work.

Artomatic 419 Mailing Address

I have a couple of pieces ready. They do not hang and can sit on most any smooth surface.

Sculptures are about 16" tall or less and will have a return shipping label included with the box.

I can post some pictures if that helps.

Looks great!

Rick,
Thanks for the postings. I like the work, I see you like to dabble in different processes. I'm still in a very big learning curve, but like welding/plasma and repousse. See earlier post on mailing address for the show.

I hope to get my welding instructor where I work, to get us an Artmetalists sign. He has a big CNC plasma table, it kicks butt. He can knock out a design in minutes. I might have my CAD students draw us one up and then send it to him to cut. Any way I can distribute the work-I will! Ha!

I could CAD that up for you

Pedestals

Lorrie,

If things work out I would like to just bring down a piece since I am only about 45 minutes away. Not sure what yet.
For pedestals, I have four that I could bring. They are made from 3" PVC and wood. Range from 24" to 32" high.

Pedestals would be well appreciated!

Warren,
Thanks for the offer, I think we can difinitely use them.
I don't mind meeting you half way. If you are near Monroe, that's an easy drive for me, and they have Pete's Garage-yummy!

Warren Thanks for thinking

Warren

Thanks for thinking of these. I'll need one for sure. I sure wish I could come up there. Having elbow surgery on the Friday the 13th! I was told that I will be down at least 2 weeks.

Surgery?

Rick,
How did your surgery go? Good thing you got your artwork
done before that-ha!
I just received your Fed-Ex notice, shipped today.
Hope your recovering well.

If you send it-we will show it!

Jamie,
Send me what you have, don't worry about glass. I would prefer something on a pedestal since I got us a booth that
is for 3D work. It will be a mix of 2D/3D.
Thanks for participating.
Lorrie

lorrie's picture

Well of course you can!

Rick,
I would love it if you could draw something up.
I can read most formats. I'm thinking either something
along the back wall (maybe 8" tall x 5' long), or something
smaller that came up off the floor (2'-3'long)???
I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Lorrie

Lorrie, I have been slammed

Lorrie,
I have been slammed with commitments buy would love to send something that is a little larger than specified. Its round, just under 13" diameter. It is a wall hanger. What do you think?
Thanks
Sam

lorrie's picture

Yep-sounds good

Sam,
Thanks for contributing. Send the piece, we will have a mininum of 1 wall, I might build out 2 walls if need be, so we should have plenty of room.
Thanks,
Lorrie

Hi Lorrie,

I'm going to need a pedestal for my piece...will be sending out next week. I'll e-mail you by the end of the week to get the address. Hope all is well!

P.S. The piece I'm sending, I don't want to sell, but if someone is interested in it I don't mind making another one. Can I put a tag with my e-mail address so that they can contact me??

Thanks Lorrie for all that you are doing for us for this show! :-)

Tag it!

Jamie,
Did you see Warren's post, he has some stands we can use? By all means, market yourself. I'll try to bring a small stand to pass out business cards, etc. Send some if you have any.
This is coming together nicely.

If only I had known.

Hi, I've been looking over the forum for a while off and on, but this got me to sign up as I live in Toledo and hadn't heard of this event before today. I found the website for it after reading this post. Wish I had known weeks ago. So are you putting assorted artist pieces in one space then? I may be able to offer something up, but I obviously missed the call with all the details or what you are organizing here.

BRING ME YOUR WORK!!!

Hi Rob,
Glad you found the forum, it's not too late to show off your work. Please read the Group: Artmetalists for more information. Everyone is sending their work to me at my home. You can drop off your stuff, or I can meet you somewhere, I live in Oregon, OH. Email me at: lakeeriebum@yahoo.com for the address. I am on one of the committees for the art show. We are going to begin setting up our displays this Friday, so don't take too long.
Thanks,
Lorrie

I'll be installing our work later this week. I'll post pictures as we progress. There are progress pictures on the web: artomatic419.org

Art Show Pictures

OK, so maybe I have been smelling too many welding gas fumes, but I can't seem to upload my pic's into one blog reply, so please go to "recent images" to look at the art show booth setup pic's. It looks really nice, the pic's don't do it justice, especially when I'm taking them. Comments welcome. Thanks to everyone who has assisted with pulling it off.
Rick, sorry about the sign, we ran out of time.
