I have been a member for a couple of weeks and have been mostly lurking. I have been working as a goldsmith for about 18 years, doing mostly custom jewelry for my own customers and custom work for local stores. I have a pretty good shop and can do everything from platinum casting to bronze casting. I have a machine shop at my home that I use to make titanium and stainless rings and like most craftspeople I have a serious tool addiction that I have taken to extremes. I got a bfa from the U of A (Arizona) sounds funny when you write it out I took a lot of metals classes and became very interested in raising and forming metal but their wasn't a lot of opportunity to do that kind of work being in the traditional jewelery business, but lately I have had some spare time being that the price of gold has shot up. I have always wanted to have a set of stakes and I am not sure how many would or should be in a set but I wanted to have a big rack full of the shiny things so I started making my own since they seem to be unavailable unless someone dies and wills them to you. I will get my wife to post some pics I have been looking at some of the stuff you guys make and it is great I really love that torso that I saw a picture of today that is amazing. » read more | 2 comments Never tried to go to 200 tons

The hose coming off of the vickers pump is not the high pressure hose I have other hoses that go to the otc 10,000 psi pump. I use the 5hp vickers pump for everything,I have found it to be more than adequate for anything I could ever want to do. » read more | 5 comments |
