I just got a picture of the cover of my book! It won't be out for a few months yet. I was able to give thanks to all you guys in the acknowledgement section for the help you gave me about what you thought was most important to include. It's finally coming together! » read more | 15 comments Railings I've started...

I'm part way through a new railing job. Wanted to show the progress....it's my first railing job of this kind. The blue ball is a 6" ball I bought from on online pet store to help keep me in compliance with the 6" rule.....(for curvilinear designs out here, the railing has to be filled in enough so that you can't pass a 6" ball through any part in the body). » read more | 13 comments Making use of my scrap pile.....

With the high price of scrap metal, I've given some thought as to what I can make and sell that makes use of my growing scrap pile. These scrap yard critters seem to be the perfect solution. They are approx. 2ft long. I will post better photos soon. » read more | 6 comments floor lamps just finished

I haven't posted any pics for awhile.......these are a couple floor lamps that I just finished.....not earth shattering however I ended up liking the lines and overall feel. The sun wasn't on them when I shot them so sorta hard to see.....the bases are pieces I found at a local scrap yard.... Help! Setting up metal welding shop....

Hello fellow metal heads! I am planning on installing a metal welding shop on my property. I will be buying a 12 x 20 carport thing (don't have room for the 18wide) and having them put sides and ends on it......the whole thing with a window and door is $2,000.00. » read more | 23 comments Hobart 140 Mig Welder.....?

Hey everyone, just thought I'd send this out.......it being the holidays and all.............how about we all take a second and click on those 'Ads by Google' that appear on the right of the screen? QuiQue will be...........let's just say......suprised.........when he sees this, however, I know he gets paid every time someone clicks on them (I'm pretty sure), and he has put SO freakin' much time into this website............why the heck not? It's the HOLIDAYS.....and someone should get that money even if it's not me (or you, other than QuiQue). » read more | 5 comments Wow you are all SO much help..............

Well I went to my local scrap yard and lucked into a perfect piece of 3/16 aluminum to practice on.........$1 a pound for a ratty cut-up piece of scrap!! You weren't kidding Bill when you mentioned the clean-up.....Wow.....I can't believe the mess......I was thinking that a shop vac within easy reach might help. Anyone cut aluminum with a hand-held plasma cutter?

Thanks again to Rich for the help! Now I am thinking of cutting the aluminum frieze myself with a hand-held plasma cutter. I have never cut aluminum, however........and wondered if anyone else has.....and if so, could tell me if there is anything I should know about that's much different from cutting steel. » read more | 5 comments |
