New to this site. Looks cool so far. Don't know what I am doing. I am waiting to see what happens. If anybody is reading this, they can look at my blacksmithing work at

I believe comments are enabled, but I don't know for sure.

Have a nice day.

welcome aboard

Welcome aboard Julia.
There are a couple of lady blacksmiths here on AM feel free to join in. You should have a good time. I once thought I knew what I was doing...only to find that I don't do it that way anymore. Nice hooks, I looked. We love pics. Brad

Julia, will you be coming up

Julia, will you be coming up to the NWBA meet at the end of April in Mt. Vernon?

Its a bit pricy- $75 for members, but that includes dinner on Saturday night, demos, hands on workshops, stuff for sale, and lots of great people to talk to.
Bring a piece for the gallery.

I would encourage all aspiring blacksmiths to attend their local groups- here in the northwest, we have an amazing bunch of smiths, many of them world class, who get together twice a year to drink beer and tell each other lies.

And give Grant Sarver more of our money

Grant makes some of the best blacksmithing tools ever- tongs, texturing tools, and so on, which he sells direct at the NWBA events- all others have to buy them from www.blacksmithdepot.com

NWBA

thanks! I don't know if I'll be able to make it, but I will definitely try. I have been meaning to get on the NWBA mailing list for a while now, thanks for reminding me.

Actually, what you should do

Actually, what you should do is join- it costs $40 a year, but for that you get 4 issues of the magazine, which is worth it right there.

http://www.blacksmith.org/

There is a very large and active Blacksmith community here in the northwest, and the way we communicate with each other is thru the Hot Iron News.

Oh!!!!!!!

Jerry and Ina Culberson are (were?)a part of Hot Iron News and the NWBA!
I took a workshop at The Old Cedar Forge. That was my first impression of real serious blacksmithing.
I will join as soon as finals are over and my brain can breathe! (Later this week.)
Thanks a lot.
