First, there are two kinds of things we call "fireplace screen". http://www.mcnichols.com/ The other material is a really cool interlocking coil, which you sometimes see on more expensive fireplace screens. This hangs like cloth, and can be opened and closed like a curtain. http://www.cascadecoil.com/default.asp ![]() Thanks for the help I think

I happen to have a small family business within a mile of my home that manufactures custom wire mesh. They do a VERY wide variety of meshes from ultra-fine filter screen up to large grids with 1/4" diameter rod. Their product is EXPENSIVE!! I have only bought a little from them, at deep discount as it was remnants, still the price was amazing! At least you CAN get it from them though. Their products are very professional, of extremely high quality. I could possibly help to find remnant stock for some of you also. I will get their contact info and post it here in the next few days. Nice people! They make stainless steel mesh, bronze, brass, steel, etcetera. It's nice to have them nearby! ![]() Belleville

materials for fireplace
Try a Home Depot, they have some stuff you can use, however, the thickness could come into question. If your in the Detroit area there are a few places you could go to: Federal Pipe and Alro Steel. I get my stuff from sheet metal fab shops; usually from there scrap bins and the price is right - FREE.
