Hi!

It's been a while since I've posted any work, and have been working on this piece this past week. This piece was commissioned as a birthday gift by a very close friend of mine for her daughter. Her daughter has been in sports like soccer and cross country running, and feels that the number "5" is her lucky number. Her parents wanted to have a pendant created for her to wear as her lucky charm.

The pendant is an overlay with added dimension. I've been studying under a jewelry designer for the past three years, and have recently learned to carve into the metal. I want to also mention that I've been inspired by Jake Balcom's mini video on America Creates.com. He talks about the evolution of his work, and some of the stages of learning how to give the work more of a 3-D effect. After watching his video several times I started to really pay attention to the detail of my own work, and realized that some of my work in especially the overlay work has been looking very flat. I still need to work on my finishing skills and know that will come with time and patience. ;-)

This is one of my first finished pieces that I have been working on. I do have another piece that I'm currently working on, and has a bit more detail to it as well as stone setting...will post that one upon completion.
