Monique -2

Monique has been whining that I never paid any attention to her so I took her up to the yearly Bugly distributor kickoff meeting and got to spend some quality time with her...

I said in the first post that I wanted to do a little augmentation from the C cup. I used Johnny's doming dies and very quickly created a DD cup which was too much. These are my second attempt and are about a D cup according to long suffering wife. The DD will be a wall hanging for the shop.

I'll tell you right now, these things caused me more trouble than I've had since High School. She's standing in a bit of a 'saucy' pose...

so she looks unlevel without her legs on.... but I took a lot of time to make sure she was symmetrical. Tomorrow I'll weld, grind, and get back on the roadster. I still need to do a couple little details but I'll wait on that.

I've started thinking about how I'm going to do the whole body. The problem is that as I start adding panels, it's going to be more and more difficult to grind and metalfinish the welds. For instance, attaching the arms to the shoulders or her head and neck should be really interesting...still thinking about it. I've never done anything like this before. Mandy wasn't close in detail or complexity.

Below is my new favorite tool. I used one like this at Bugly and just loved it. Really works well on aluminum. Roger made his and when I got home I found the big end of one of my bats and turned the handle. Really, REALLY like it!

Also spent a couple hours making a new convex upper wheel just for working on things like this. This was a 6x2 caster that I had trued to .001.  This morning I cut the face down to about 3/4" and relieved the edges leaving about a 3/8 contact flat. I used it today with 1x3 anvils, 2x2 anvils, and these little 1x1's. Really good for getting into the reverses.  It's nice having a half dozen ewheels set up...Laughing

I can tell you for sure that smaller anvils are much harder to wheel over lumps than larger ones....
