I just checked in a store we have here in canada called Princessauto. They have a desiccant air dryer. I don't know if know about these? It's a 37" long tube with air dryer pellets that goes into that tube. They say that it recommended for quality spray painting and that it eliminates all moistures from air supply. What would you say about this desiccant air dryer? you need a water trap, but in addition, you should get a paper filter. I change my filters out every couple of months (it doesnt use real toilet paper- that would disintegrate and foul your plasma cutter right away- it uses a round roll of much tougher paper) and I let the old, wet one, sit for a month or so, and dry out, and use it again. I usually get several uses out of each filter. Princess Auto does not sell much of anything worth much, in my opinion- its the bottom of the barrel chinese imports. » reply |

Hi Gillis, it's called a water trap and should be available where they sell large air compressors or air tools. Mine cost around $70. You don't need a commercial trap($100-$300 cost), but I wouldn't buy a cheap one($20 from harbor freight) because you'll just spend extra $ in nozzles and tips on the torch. Make sure to put it right before the plasma unit otherwise you may still get water going into it.
