Guess what guys!

I BOTH IT!!! Yes, this morning while reading all the wonderful advices from you people concerning my Plasma cutter, I finaly made my choice and I went for.................... the Hypertherm powermax30! And guess what, I payed less for it then the Miller x-treme 10-30. The Miller was $1400 before taxes and I got the Hypertherm for $1290. And I think it's a better machine.

So I wish to thank you all for you presious advices, it really helped me a lot!

Hey thanks Jake

I went for the Hypertherm because it seems that most people on this site think the world of this brand. So I figured, go with the majority is my best bet. And you can say that again about saving time with the dragon because every scales on the dragon was cut with an old meat saw adapted for metal. It was a long and unprecise process.

Have fun! I have a hypertherm 190c and really love it....it's limited and yet perfect for the 18g that I cut with it. I'm still looking for the cheaper consumables that I've heard about......if I find them I will post on Artmetal.....if someone else knows maybe they will let us know (or if you already know then please share!)...

I haven't used them yet, but a couple of my friends have and say they're great and very attractively priced.

Interesting, Gene.

When my buddy recommended Thermacut, he said that thye used to be called, you guessed it, Zap Plasmatherm. I wonder where Torchmate came into it, or if they are the same as Thermacut under a diferent name. Hard to tell in these days of instant name changes, corporate takeovers and instant dot.com entities.

Congrats on the purchase

I think you will be happy with it. Dry air is the key to it working well. as with plasma cutter.

Hypertherm 30

I also just purchased the Hypertherm 30. Great small powerful machine. Easily cuts 1/4 in and I demoed it SLOWLY cutting 1/2 stock. If you were not aware Hypertherm has a $100 rebate right now. My local supplier just had their 45 anniversy with killer deals and demos......

Hey Tim

I'm glad to know someone know who has the same product and to know that it's working so well. I guess I made the right choice after all. I didn't recived mine yet and I'm bettween shop right know and I don't have the proper pipping system instaled for the compressor. I was thinking of using, for the time being, a 100 foot compressor hose thatI would run on the celling to reduce the humid air as much as possible. This is of course a temporary mesure. How are you geared on you side?
