juried into ACV

Blacksmithing

My good news of the season. I finally got juried into the Artisans Center of Virginia. Tough juries. It took me two tries to get in and even than just by the skin of my teeth :-)

Congratulations

Entry into these groups is good because they provide networking and some retailers are interested in Guild members in their shops. Many of these groups have newsletters and I encourage you to promote youself.

Best of luck,
Fred

Congratulations! It's hard

Congratulations! It's hard to get everything together to even apply these days. Did you have to use the ZAP (could be wrong about the letters) process to apply. I have a weaver friend who is finding it a hard transition.

Marilyn, the jury process is

Marilyn, the jury process is in three parts. Juries are held three times a year. First get a application and send it in with several slides, yes, slides :-(, of your work. Next they have a jury of the slides. If you pass that, then you submit several pieces of your work for the final jury. In my case, I didn't score high enough the first time to place my work in the gallery, but did get in half way. Which meant I was able to take part in the studio tour. Which was great, it was one of the main reason for wanting to get in. I did the resubmit and this time passed :-) You're allowed one year to resubmit new work or you have to start again. I've never heard of ZAP
