Instead? Rich and I were talking about this. E. said that the mail list was, "a wonderful group of old friends." The list has been named the sandbox. Mail list has a couple filter options and two subject tags to go with them that posters are requested to attach if their post is not about metal or art. OT: or POL: POL: is for political opinions You can set either or both filters to cull those messages out of your mail flow. Most of us enjoy the water cooler OT: chat a few of us turn off the POL: chatter. And E.s right, archiving most of that would be a waste of bandwidth. Not everybody there comes to the web site. Try asking a metal question on the maillist. You may be surprised at the answers. (and if you liked the answer, save it and share it here and elsewhere, cause as Enrique said, there is no archive on the mail list.) Gene Olson » reply |

The mail list is great for
The mail list is great for chit-chat and a wonderful group of old friends. However, I do have to step in and say that unless you want to receive lots of off topic discussions and lots of mail, then you may want to instead stay an active member of the ArtMetal web site community.
Please don't get me wrong. The folks on the mail list are great! It's just that, if you are more interested in sharing the metal art you create, or want to get information on how-to's, then the artmetal.com web site is the place to be. Things here are more on topic, and everything gets archived so you can use the search facility to find information. On the other hand, the mail list is not archived at all, and the discussions can sometimes go well beyond the scope of metal or art. But it's still fun for the old timers!
Just a warning and a desire for clarification...
