bronze | bronze casting | casting | copper | smelting | tin Hey all, I'm trying to get ahold of straight 90/10 CuSn Bronze for some bronze age tools and experiments. C90700 Phosphur Bronze is about as close as I can come to it with a commercially available product. I was thinking of simply smelting my own, but the cost of copper is just insane right now. $7.67 per pound for copper is just nuts. » read more | 2 comments CFM parameters for electric forge blower?

blacksmithing | forge I'm building a gas forge right now, but one thing I'm not sure about is what the CFM parameters for a forge blower should be. I was a sculpture major in college over 20 years ago and just haven't had the resources, mentally, physically or financially, to truly pursue some of the things I want to do so now, I'm finally getting back to it. Of course, my skills have lapsed and I have forgotten huge amounts, so I may as well be starting over in many ways. That's okay though, this is, as much as anything else, a vessel for learning about myself and is more about long-term creativity and an outlet for ideas. I have been doing some small-scale blacksmithing just to kind of get my hands dirty again and I'll be building a couple of larger furnaces as time and finances allow so that I can do forge welding and casting. » read more | 2 comments |
