Anyone in/from the Baltimore area?

Blacksmithing | Knife-makers | Welding

Good morning all.
So here's a question for people out in the great big world of the cyber, does anyone know of any metal and or welding shops in the Baltimore area that are good for employment?

The sort of spot I'm looking for is much like the smithy at the National Ornamental Museum. A metal shop that can do anything from custom motorcycle parts (with the help of the foreman, I made a rather nice stainless steel rack for a Honda scooter I had back in the day) to forging coat hooks, to casting aluminum, to making a fountain, to... I'm just looking for word of mouth shops anyone can recommend. I have been trolling the yellow pages, but cold calling or just showing up at a shop is a tad bit strange.

Repousse pitch

A few years ago I heard someone talk about an Italian pitch that is meant to be used in warm weather, and doesn't require to be constantly heated. The guy that was showing me his samples had two recipes one for the winter, which was much softer, and one that was a bit more dense for the summer. Both of the pitches softened from the heat from the person's hands, and were light brown rather that the black pitch I had back in school.

Studio Setup

Good morning all!
I'm new to the site, and after taking a year off from any metal work, I'm attempting to get back into the swing of things, and attempting to set up a studio at home.
Being a product of an average 4 year college, I am rather at home with being in a school metals studio, but have never had to set up a studio from the ground up.
