Iron Orchid on Beech root

Iron Orchid on Beech RootIron Orchid on Beech RootRecently I modified this sculpture by painting the metal flat black. I also coated the Beech root with boiled linseed oil. I am quite pleased with the effect.I am finding that color can emphasize the shape better than how the raw steel appears, especially a dark flat color. The contrast with a light background or even the red background as shown works well IMO.

Amazing what a little color

Amazing what a little color does to change a look. I like it!

Scratches

Hi Tim,

I love the new adventure of color, but now I have to be careful how I transport stuff. A metallic mist helps make minor scratches a lot less obvious.
