izigimigizi ... Many Ways

| | | | | |

izigimigizi is an integration of Migizi(Bald Eagle)and the human skull. Spirits can be one many ways. The medium is .032" sheet mild steel, hand cut and hand formed. Some folding was utilized forming feathers. In this sculpture, the skull is less stylized while the bird is more stylized,a matter of choice. There is hidden symbolism for you to find. With this effort, greatest growth was realized creating the Eagle head. I tried to give the bird a flow that could only be found with my hands working clay, izigimigiziizigimigizithen transferred to metal. My fingers taught my eyes.

Thank You

Hi Ansuz,
Thank you very much. I looked at your artwork and love what you are doing. I fully appreciate your traditional approach to the dragon. You have inspired me to try portraying a lion, but still using sheet metal.

This is amazing......I'd

This is amazing......I'd love to hear your explanation of the symbolism. It makes me think of the evolution of humanity. It also looks to symbolize America lifting humanity to a higher place.

Mystery

Hi Kimberli,
Thank you so much.
Ah mystery... Your imagination has added wonderful color to this raw steel;Yes and yes,and.....
Speaking of color, your new book cover is superb. I admire your graphic talent. Forgive my jealousy, as I have none.

Frank- This is really great!

Frank-
This is really great! This is a bit out of character for you, though, isn't it? Almost kind of ominous...? It is quite wonderful and artistically exciting, but a bit disturbing, especially given your life history. I hope everything is OK with you! In my opinion, you are way too important of an asset to this community!

OK

Hi Rob,
Thank you.Sorry about the disturbing facet of my work(sort of).I am indebted to you,Rob, for the combination of two words used in your response. The words are"life history".My "health history" is atrocious, but I'm still joyfully vertical. I know some of the reasons why I'm still here and excited about discovering the rest.Your concern lifts me.

Hi Frank

Hi Frank,
Sorry it took so long to comment on this great piece.
Your Birds are amazing, but I've got to tell you your Skull
Kicks A**. I thought you really captured what most DO NOT when they sculpt a Skull. It's Very realistic!
You outdid yourself with this one!
I'm sure it will be a wonderful conversation piece in the great white North.
Eh!

Enjoy the Summer!!

Baseball that day

Hi Chuck,
Thank you very much. Skulls sure are a fascinating bone.
Summer? Oh we play baseball that day.The Humming birds are back and the Robins are singing love songs. Spring Beauties are filling the air with a sweet aroma.I love living where our Creator is(still) the primary architect.
Peace,eh
