Sixty Going on Eighteen

I turned sixty today, as I was born Jan 7, 1949. I have another birthday also. I got my sister's bone marrow Jan 21, 1991. Thank you dear Creator for life, friends, family, curiosity, and challenges to conquer. Life is, indeed, good.

Hi Jake,
Thank you friend.Years ago,my brother bought a Corvette that had bald tires, a slipping clutch, cracked windows, torn seats, loud exhaust, spider webs all over the fiberglass body, and the trans would hang up; not mention that it smoked. Every part was literally used up. My clutch isn't slipping yet, but I'm working on it.

Happy Birthday, Frank! Sixty is a good age, for sure. I too, just turned sixty on the 28th of December. If only I could get my mind to understand that the body is sixty; unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), my mental image of myself seems to have gotten fixed somewhere around age 24. So my mind writes checks that the body simply can't cash, you know? Ben Gay and aspirin must have been invented by someone over sixty. (grin)

Having beat the reaper on a couple of occasions myself, I can well understand your feelings about successfully getting the bone marrow transplant. There are those times when you simply know that you will probably not see tomorrow and then you make it through and the world looks very different, indeed. Life becomes far more precious and little things quit having much impact after a time like that. For myself, I'd have to say that the experience genuinely improved my life.

Best wishes for many more birthdays, Frank.

Birthdays are obviously good for you - the more you have, the longer you live.
