Icosaheron

| | |

Icosaheron is basically finished. As the name implies the body of this sculpture is based on an icosahedron, an elliptical icosahedron that has been further mutated into a teardrop. It just seemed to be the correct shape, so I went with it.The media is re-rod.The bird stands 77.7 " tall.I thought that my inner weirdness might have ruined the work, but in retrospect, I'm pleased.

Geo

Frank,
I really like this piece. The geometric really flows into the bird creature like it was meant to be.
By the way your invisa-eagle rocks, heavily!

Facets.

Hi Sam,
Thanks. It surprised me how well the facets of the icosahedron represented parts of the bird beyond the basic teardrop.
This work is so crude compared to the shield you shared, but geometry is integral to both,eh?

Frank-
This is really wonderful. I envy your skill and artistic sense that allow you to capture the grace and movement of this animal. The simple, graceful lines of this piece do so much here!
