No Pics This Time

Hi Brad,
This is also only the second show I've shown my work. I really wish I would have brought a camera. I watched the faces of the little boys who came with their big humans. As each child first saw the dragons I displayed, wonderful expressions came upon each face.I missed capturing these images, a better reward than the green stuff the big humans offered. My soul did however absorb the moment.I need to add that some of the most expressive reactions were from children who were in their eighties.
The 'Munising Bay Arts Association' is actually a rebirth of an older inactive nonprofit group.I'm acting as a trustee(I need to get an orange jump suit). The energy of the new group is something our little town hasn't seen in the last fifty years. One member raised $500 to be donated for public art today to be matched by a local employer. Our'Downtown Developement Authority' set aside $10,000 for public art for the coming fiscal year. You can't control fate, but you sure can massage it.
Peace,eh?
Frank

Agatha

Hi J.R., Here's a pic of Agatha. This was my first attempt at making a dragon. Agatha now has a new home. The other dragons I've created are Professor Drago and i-Naga. They are in the sulpture sections of the galleries. FrankAgatha: Hi J.R., Here's a pic of Agatha. This was my first attempt at making a dragon. Agatha now has a new home. Frank,

Yes, I've seen Drago and i-Naga, great works. I really like Agatha... very dramatic, and great sense of motion and balance.

Thanks for the pix!

ah darn

Frank,
I like to see artists taking an interest and getting involved in creating a market for their work. Musicians and actors get applause and get to see the reaction to their work instantly. Thanks for the reminder of smiling faces and patrons that get to daily enjoy our work. Bravo well done. Would like to see pic of you in the orange jump suit, on your tractor would make a nice poster.. he he enjoy Brad

Congratulations on the show

Congratulations on the show and yes, I like the dragons. I am also very impressed that an art association has revived. My small town also has an art associaation that when it was established in the eary 60s, had a lot of active members also a supporting group of those who where not artists but who helped with fund raisers etc. We were down to about five active members a few years ago but thanks to a new community education group who know how to get and use grants, there are now art classes and we a picking up new members. However, this is not a community that likes to buy art unless it's cheap.

Love Dragons....

Hi Frank.....

I love your dragons, congradulations on their success and yours. I loved the story behind I-Naga. Does Agatha
have a story also? Janet R.

Frank Castiglione's picture

No Story

Hi Janet,
I brought Agatha over to her new owners and when asked for a story, I had none. They were disappointed. I usually have a story too! Agatha was my first attempt at a dragon and is quite crude, but she just flowed nicely.

Continued success

Good for you Frank, keep up the great work and the push to get artists and community together. We hope to have something started out in my area soon. The rebirth of the inactive group is an interesting idea and I will pass that along. Why reinvent the wheel?

Continued success and realizing your dreams
