Hello,

I'm planning to build a coke furnace at home but I cannot find any good plans on the internet, does anyone have a coke furnace at home and would be willing of sharing a photo of it or even better a direct plan.? I would be using it to heat metal - binding iron to make some tools for casting.

removing the slag from aluminum

Hello.

Can anyone help me, or tell me how do they remove the slag from molten aluminum? Do they use the same procedure as when casting bronze ? And If you add anything before pouring the molten metal into the mold? When I cast bronze I add some borax and some phosphor-copper, and after that pour it into the mold.

polishing aluminium

Hello !

I don't know if this is the best group for me to post my problem here, but I'll do it any way.
Could anyone tell me something about polishing aluminium? Is it the same procedure as in polishing bronze ? (first I ''sand'' it, and than use sand papers to the 1200 and than polish with a cream and cloth), the results are a clean, polished surface, just like a mirror.

Bronze welding with TIG

Hello, I'm new to this site. And I've turned to you to help me with this problem I have.

I'm still a student on the Academy of fine Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia (But that's not essential).

The problem I have is when I want to weld TIG weld bronze. I'm using a DC inverter, and Argon for shielding gas. It welds iron and inox (stainless steel) perfectly, but it doesn't want to weld bronze.
