Once they get my power restored, I'll be getting that finished up right shortly - I just have the final sanding and buffing to do. I'll definitely post some pictures of the forging process and the finished item. » reply glad to see you're still

It's great to hear you and your wife are fine after the hurricane. I was starting to get worried when I didn't see you posting. It's really nice to see you are ok and as always, your wonderful informative responses to the community. Thank you for your camaraderie! » reply |

Thanks for your concern,
Thanks for your concern, Jake. All is well here; we survived the storm with only minimal damage for the most part. Much of St. Croix, including me, is still without power, unfortunately. My DSL is still non-functioning, so I opted to get dial-up internet for a while until the DSL is someday fixed. Very slow, but better than nothing, and better than having to drive all over the island loking for a wi-fi spot, which is what I've been doing for the past five weeks.
I have a couple of downed trees to cut up and a washed-out farm lane to repair, and I had to muck out about an inch of really slimy mud from the storage area of the shop due to flooding from my landlady's road. We got 15" of rain over two days, so the flooding wasn't a surprise. Other than that, all is well.
I'm hopin gthat I get power restored here pretty soon. I havea small generator for the house, but none for the shop. Of course, I really want to be in the shop, finishing up a crimping/fluting stake that I forged just before the storm hit us. Ah well, a few more days of enforced vacation, I guess.
Thanks for being concerned, I appreciate it!
Rich
